Wall·E was today voted the best film of the year by the distinguished Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the first time in their 30+ year history that the award has gone to an animated film.
The film was also today shortlisted as one of the ten best films of the year by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

Annie Award Nominations
Wall·E is nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2009 Annie Awards along with Bolt, Kung Fu Panda, $9.99 and Waltz for Bashir. Wall·E got 8 nominations in total, including one for Ben Burrt as the voice of Wall·E (!), while Kung Fu Panda led the pack with 17, followed by Bolt with 9 nominations.
